Gran’s Sausage Balls: Einkorn Edition

My Gran always made the most amazing sausage balls for Christmas morning. Our family looked forward to them every year–and before any presents were opened, practically all of them were devoured.

As a mom who has become really intentional about what we eat in our home, I wanted to continue this Christmas tradition but was frustrated by the fact that Bisquick has less-than-desirable ingredients. So when Young Living came out with their Einkorn pancake and waffle mix I just HAD to try it… The result? AMAZING sausage balls JUST like Gran always made–but WAY healthier with less gluten and no extra junk!

Here’s the recipe:

Preheat the oven to 400.

  • 1 cup Einkorn Pancake and Waffle Mix
  • 1 pound breakfast Sausage
  • 6 ounces of freshly grated cheddar cheese

Blend all the ingredients in a mixing bowl by hand until completely blended. 

Roll into 1 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet.  
Bake at 400 for 15 minutes, check, cook up to an additional 5 minutes, until the Sausage Balls are browned and slightly crispy.

Allow to cool on parchment paper for 3-4 minutes and serve hot.


Makes about 32.
